Ingredient

Leucine

Benefits

Synthetic

This essential amino acid is used by the body for renewal and repair. It’s often used as a fitness supplement by athletes and bodybuilders - and it can give hair a boost, too.

Leucine is a branched chain amino acid (BCAA) which is found naturally in hair, fur and feathers. It can also be synthesised from sunflowers. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, and the body needs them in order to carry out its essential functions, including repairing muscles, bone, skin and hair.

Protein-derived substances like leucine, hydrolysed wheat protein or arginine HCL are used to temporarily protect and repair each hair strand. They are attracted to keratin (the protein in the hair) and thus will cover the strand and stick to it that the split ends come back together again.

In the same way that bodybuilders use leucine to build muscles, it can also plump up hair to greater heights, leaving it full and healthy.
